Lessons From My First Marathon
On June 3rd I successfully ran 26.2 miles to complete my first
marathon in 5 hours and 30 minutes...phew!!!
A year and a half ago I did not believe I could do this.
People have asked me why I took on this challenge. I shared with one
person, "I am grateful to be at a point in my life where I am
choosing to be challenged by running a marathon, rather than where I
used to be....challenged by healing from sexual abuse."
To be free of past emotional issues and have the opportunity to take
on a new experience was powerfully rewarding. Finishing the San
Diego marathon was one of the highlights of my life. To know that
when we choose to reach new heights of creation, God is right there
with us to assist us in success. Heavenly Father not only desires to
assist us with overcoming the hardships in life, He finds tremendous
joy in assisting us in creating what is wonderful and desirable to us.
During my training, I not only ran the miles, but while running the
miles I used the creation principles I teach in my book as I ran.
Doing energy circles while running is a very empowering experience. to
I also had asked for angels to run with me and I felt them all along
the way.
A limiting collective belief in the marathon world is at mile 20 you
hit a wall. Even on the race course they put up a large apparatus
that looked like a wall with the words "The Wall" painted on it.
Our coach shared with us that at mile 20 you hit a wall and it feels
like you are running a second marathon. I replied to him, "that is a
limiting belief that I am not going to participate with. I am going
to believe that my marathon starts at mile 20 and every mile before
it has just been a warm-up!"
The power of belief is incredible when we really believe. My
evidence was from mile 20 to mile 26 I clocked my best time, taking a
minute and a half off each mile.
I am grateful for all the people who came out and cheered us all on,
nearly 40,000 along the way. The best comment I had yelled at me by
a marine that was manning a water station was, "The pain is the
weakness leaving your body!" Yelled in true marine style.
The most amazing person I met was Julie Barrett, a 70 year-"young"
woman who only started running marathons at age 48 and the San Diego
marathon was her 93 marathon. What an inspiration to what we can
achieve.
Many of you know that my husband and I ran this marathon for the
Leukemia Foundation. We successfully raised $6,000 dollars.
If you are looking for a great experience, get involved in the
Leukemia marathon program. Email me if you would like further
information.

China
Two days ago my family of 6 returned from a 16-day trip to mainland
China.
Two things I have a greater appreciation for in our country as a
result of our trip is our waste disposal system and our clean air.
With the westernization of China they are importing more products
with wrappers and disposable parts and more cars. They have not
created systems yet to accomodate this. Smog is a very big problem
as wewll as litter in many areas.
Since my husband speaks fluent mandarin chinese, thanks to his 2-year
mission in Taiwain and many businnes trips there since, it was
wonderful to watch him converse with the Chinese. They were
fascinated by his language ability and whenever he conversed with
someone a group of a dozen or more people would gather around with
astonshing looks on their faces.
To climb the Great Wall, walk through the Forbidden City, view the
thousands of terra-cotta soldiers, spend 5 days going up the Yangtze
River, observe the Chinese elders out in the parks in the early
morning practicing Tai Chi, and much more was an incredible.
We went with a tour group for a very reasonable price that included
everything....$2300, and it did include everything, even airfare!
If you would like more information on next years excursion please
email me and I can reply with the contact information.

Seminars
I am taking the summer off from my seminar schedule and will be
offering more in the Fall.
Many people have contacted my about hosting an "At Home" seminar in
their area. The minimum attendance I require to come to any area is
35 attendees. I offer 2 an 4 hour programs. What I speak about is
much more than you have read in my book. Everyone that has attended
one has been thrilled. There is alot of information I have to share
for the benefit of yourself and your families. If you are interested
in hosting a seminar please email me.
